Frequently Asked Questions

Whether you are new to therapy or look to reconnect with a therapist, the process can be intimidating. I'm here to answer any questions you may have about therapy, and here are just a few frequently asked ones:

Do I need therapy?

People enter therapy for different reasons; maybe you want a deeper understanding of your behaviors and relationships, perhaps you are looking for support while going through challenging transitions, or maybe you want to learn better ways to manage stress and anxiety. I begin my consultation by inviting you to share what is bringing you to therapy now and working collaboratively to identify your goals in treatment.

Do you provide in-person and/or virtually therapy?

I offer both in-person and virtual therapy. I have an office that is located in the Sunset District in San Francisco which is easily accessible by Muni.

How long are your sessions and what are your fees?

I generally offer weekly, 45-50 minute sessions; however, I am open to adjusting the session frequency/length on a case-by-case basis. My fees are commensurate with other licensed psychologists in the Bay Area. A few factors may determine session fee (e.g., provider's training experience, type of care provided, session length). I recognize that everyone has a unique financial situation when seeking therapy. I'm committed to working with you to determine a fee schedule that fits your needs. This will be discussed during our complimentary consultation meeting. To see if I can meet your needs, please submit a consultation request.

Do you take insurance?

I currently do not accept insurance; however, I can gladly provide you with a receipt of services, commonly referred to as a "superbill," which you can use to seek reimbursement from your insurance company. Reimbursement rates can differ significantly, so I encourage you to inquire about out-of-network mental and behavioral health benefits with your

Can I schedule session as needed instead of meeting regularly?

I believe that the effectiveness of therapy is partly due to the consistency and predictability of an agreed-upon session frequency and length. Knowing that we maintain consistency offers a crucial sense of security and trust in therapy. This foundation enables us to be vulnerable and take risks. Without such consistency, we might lose the emotional threads essential to the integrity of the therapeutic process. I will collaborate with you to determine a session frequency that is effective without compromising the quality and trust inherent in our treatment.

What is your cancellation/reschedule policy?

Please ensure that you cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations or no-shows with less than 24 hours' notice will incur the full session fee.

Effective January 2024, the required notice period for cancellations or rescheduling will be updated to 48 hours prior to the scheduled session.
